Customer Reviews
Overall rating: 3.8 / 5 from 1444 reviews.
I recently purchased the Jayflex CrossGrips, and so far I’ve been very happy with them. I mainly use them for pull-ups, and they’ve made my workouts more enjoyable and versatile.
I try to do pull-ups 3–4 times a week, and the CrossGrips have been really helpful in keeping me consistent with my routine. They’re easy to use, feel solid, and give me some flexibility with my grip and exercises.
Overall, I’m very pleased with the purchase and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to add some variety to their pull-up workouts.
The black grips that protect the door jam are coming off and may eventually damage my door. It also pinches my skin if I hold it a certain way attaching it to the door. If they could fix these things it would be perfect
The crossgrips fit just right on my door I have been struggling on the old pull up bar that used to hang on my door frame because it was to long but with the crossgrips I have space and it's easy to fold back up and put away. I RECOMMEND
5 star review because I think the concept is awesome, but in the next version of these please make them adjustable for door frame thickness, I have them fully expanded and taped to fit my door frame and it is still loose. The grip material could also be made to be more comfortable. If my door frame was standard size there would be no problems.

Hi Abdallah,
Thank you for the great feedback! We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the solid build and quality—and love that you’re making the most of it during breaks (and even those extra long meetings!). Appreciate your support!
Not easy to pull apart once mounted on the door frame. The cushions seemed built for last and not for comfort
Store owner replied:
Hi Brian,
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the crossgrips didn’t fully meet your expectations. They are designed to stay securely in place for your safety. Regarding the cushions, they’re built with durability and long-term use in mind, though we understand comfort is just as important. We truly appreciate your input and will share it with our product team as we continue to improve!
It took 3 and 1/2 months to get these things and I'm still astonished at all the delays and screw-ups, 90% by Jayflex but also by USPS. We've all been spoiled by Amazon. Jayflex is no Amazon.
But I've got my cross-grips now and they work flawlessly. No more wandering around looking for a scaffolding or paying for a gym or trying to make a playground for toddlers work as a chin-up location for a 6-ft 4-in man.
Instead, I can do quick chin-ups anytime. Back to my old routine and it feels great. I just did a fast seven and made my 100 rep goal for the week. No need to destroy my walls and no fear of falling - these things are solid.
It's an excellent product. Worth the hassle, although I'm still amazed that it was so difficult to get.
Store owner replied:
Hi Daniel,

I really enjoyed my pull up Bar. I can switch it out and do more than one workout . I’m just starting off so I’m taking my time with it and learning more about the proper way to use it !🫣😁 Either way I love it and I know I’m going to get better, so thanks a lot!! So far I’m very excited !!😊
Store owner replied:
Hi David,
We responded to both of your inquiries. Sometimes those end up in your spam folder! Please check there. The grips should not have arrived like that, and we are happy to send a replacement or a refund!
Normal “perfect pull-up bar” did not fit my old school door frame jay flex did!!!
Store owner replied:
Hi Trevon,
We’re thrilled the crossgrips worked for your door frame when others didn’t. Thanks for your feedback and enjoy your workouts!
I love it but 2 things I didn’t like : the left foam handle sliding out and I have a hard time taking the gadget off from the door if I want to do push up.
Store owner replied:
Hi Rina,
Thanks for the honest feedback! The manufacturer recommends using an adhesive spray if needed to keep the grip in place. Feel free to reach out to support@jayflexfitness.com, and we have an installation video we can send you that will hopefully make things easier for you!
tried to pull it apart to go around the door frame - the spring popped out and I can’t get it back in. it said it would go around 6” door frame, but pulled apart all the way.
waste of money and effort
Store owner replied:
Hi Adrian,

After the first use the rubber came off , I’m a little disappointed and upset for the price I paid for this …..

Not worth the $, great product but not put together well.
Store owner replied:
Hi Carlos,
Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We’re glad to hear you feel the crossgrips are great, but we’re sorry to learn that the overall build did not meet your expectations for the price. We take comments like this seriously, as they help us identify areas where we can improve design and assembly. Your input has been shared with our team, and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your experience.
I assumed there be some width stretcher or something to adjust to door frames. Please advise, I could just be setting it up wrong. Thanks!
Store owner replied:
Hi Matthew,
Please reach out to support@jayflexfitness.com for assistance!
The right-hand grip wasn’t machined properly (the hole for the bolt that stops the handle path was drilled off-center—something I noticed immediately, so whoever inspected this one missed it,) which means the handle can’t go down all the way to be parallel with the left-hand grip. Thus, my right hand is always slightly higher and at an angle.
The grips are also not made for wide hands. My fingers have to squish together to fit on the grip. It still works, but these two issues combine to make it pretty uncomfortable.
Store owner replied:
Hi John,
Thanks for your honest feedback! The manufacturer has stated there can be up to a 5 degree variance in the handle level. The size of your doorframe also comes into play with how much space is left for your hands. If you have any further questions, let us know!
One handle is straight, the other always sits at an angle, making the grips uneven and pullups completely uncomfortable.
Expected better quality control given the price of this product.
Store owner replied:
Hi Christos,
The manufacturer has said there can be a 5 degree variance in the handle, and you may find it settles over time with use. If it continues to bother you, we do have a two year warranty on all our products, so feel free to reach out. We appreciate your honest feedback!
Everything is okay, except left handle is not parallel to the ground as the right one, it is okay for now but I’m sure it could create some muscle imbalance in the future. Curious how it can be fixed.
Store owner replied:
Hi Arthur,

You may find the handle levels out with use, but if you continue to experience issues, please reach out and let us know! We have a 2 year warranty on all our products.
These work great Eady to install and they don't damage the door frame. I highly recommend them.
Store owner replied:
Hi Stephen,
Thank you so much for the awesome review! We’re glad to hear they were easy to install and gentle on your door frame. We really appreciate the recommendation — enjoy the workouts!
I’m 64 & have exercised my whole life:) I wanted to add more to my routine & these are very nice for pull-ups & changing to forearms then biceps on these. Well built fit great on my door frame. Great place for them as every time I walk through I do a few!
Store owner replied:

Keep up the amazing work — a few reps every time you walk through the doorway definitely adds up!
The product was received in a timely fashion and was quick and easy to set up. I love the multi-functionality and ability to use additional equipment. These make for a great addition to my small-space home gym.

Hi Andreas,
Thanks for your feedback! We’re glad to hear they’re working great for you.
The first set I got had a problem with the "limit" bolt not seating, so the bars would hang past level. I told customer service, sent photos and they expedited a replacement that was obviously beefed up in the problem area. Super satisfied!
It's a great, compact, unit that totally out shines those big, clunky bar systems!
Store owner replied:
Hi Kirby,
Thanks for sharing your experience! We’re glad our team could quickly get you a replacement and that the updated design is working great for you. It’s awesome to hear you’re enjoying the compact setup — we really appreciate your feedback!

New high of 4 pull-ups! The cross-grips make it easy for those days when you just don’t make it to the gym but want to do SOMEthing. I have not tried the assistance straps nor the ab straps yet but I am confident they will help me on my pull ups and abs journey. I took away one star for a few reasons: 1) the ads I was receiving showed the cross grips as silver but they came painted black. Not a HUGE deal but not what I was expecting. 2) one of the handle bars is not parallel to the floor like the other one is….doesn’t seem to affect performance but still not the quality I would expect. 3) the cross grips are not so easy to extend as I would like when fitting to a door frame. The videos made it seem super easy whereas it’s honestly a workout in itself to get them onto my doorframe. Overall, happy I purchased.
Store owner replied:
Hi Lauren,
Wow—congrats on hitting a new high of 4 pull-ups! 🎉 We’re so glad the CrossGrips are helping you keep up your workouts at home. We appreciate you sharing the detailed feedback about the color, alignment, and setup. While the performance isn’t affected, we understand how expectations matter, and we’ll share your input with our team to help improve both product quality and setup ease. We’re excited for you to try the assistance and ab straps—here’s to even more pull-up milestones ahead!
I was excited to receive my order! I will update you soon with my progress and how I like the cross grips!
Store owner replied:
Hi Redeemer,
We’re excited for you too! Can’t wait to hear how your progress goes with the CrossGrips—thanks for keeping us posted!
Broke the very first time I used them, in combination with the JayFlex cable setup. Entire thing came crashing off of my door, and I was lucky the weight didn't land in my lap.
Store owner replied:
Hi Eric,
We’re really sorry to hear about your experience—and we're incredibly thankful no one was hurt. That definitely shouldn’t have happened. We take safety and product quality very seriously, and we'd love the opportunity to make this right and understand what went wrong. Please reach out to our support team directly so we can investigate further and help resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
The handles unfold past 90°, so they're a few degrees lower than level. The Allen bolts to prevent this, do not tighten properly, so the bars feel slightly unstable. I'm 190#
Store owner replied:
Hi Kirby,
So sorry to hear this! Please reach out to support@jayflexfitness.com, and we can assist with troubleshooting or a replacement if needed.
One of the handles were not straight and facing down making it awkward to do pull ups. I send and email with photo and asked for replacement, but no response.
Store owner replied:
Hi Acey, This definitely should not happen! I am not finding any email from you to our customer support team. Would you mind emailing us again so we can help out and get you taken care of? Thanks!
